Introduction
No matter how fulfilled our life is and how many blessings we have, we just can’t escape the grip of anxiety. Often, we may think that a lack of certain things is causing our anxiety, but that’s not always the case. Even celebrities, with all their fame, love, and money, are not immune to suffering from anxiety and depression. Personally, despite living a very blessed life (Alhamdulillah), I too have experienced anxiety attacks.
Around two months ago, during my last anxiety attack, something unexpected happened – a door to a whole new path opened up before me. I stumbled upon something that nobody had told me about before. In this blog post, I’ll share with you the revelation of this door, but ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to walk on that road or not.
Throughout this post, I’ll guide you on how to detect the roots of your anxiety, identify the sources causing it, understand why true worshippers of Allah seldom experience anxiety, discover where your mind can find solace, and explore how Tawuoz (seeking refuge) can be a powerful tool to save you from anxiety.
Now let’s dive into the details and uncover the pathway to overcoming anxiety.
Fuel Of Anxiety

The Regret and Fear
Like any fire in the world, anxiety has its own fuel, which is often comprised of two elements: the regret of the past and the fear of the future. While both play a role, the fear of the future tends to be the predominant factor in causing anxiety. We find ourselves constantly burning in this fire of anxiety, adding more fear to it without even realizing it.
Magnifying Problems
One of the intriguing aspects of anxiety is that it often magnifies the actual problems we face. Many times, the root cause of anxiety may not be as significant as it seems, but when we let fear take over, the problem becomes larger and more overwhelming. Understanding this dynamic is crucial to gain control over anxiety.
Challenging the Notion of Future
Take a moment to ponder why these fears take root in the first place. It could be the fear of losing someone you love, the fear of failure, the fear of financial struggles, or the fear of being stuck in an undesirable situation forever. However, let me assure you, my Luv, that the future is the biggest lie your mind has ever told you. In truth, “there’s no future at all.” Two years ago, today was your future, but where is it now? Yesterday, you said “tomorrow is the future,” but where is that tomorrow today? The reality is that today is “today,” not “tomorrow.” So, where is that future you were fearing?
A Homework for Self-Reflection
Here’s a simple exercise for you before we proceed further: Take a moment to ask yourself, “What do I think is causing my anxiety? What fear lies behind it? And what if that fear were to come true?” Whatever your answer may be, I want to remind you that the fear you’re worrying about isn’t even here yet! It’s just a projection of your mind, and dwelling on it only adds to the burden of anxiety.
Positive “What If”
Now, I want you to imagine a different perspective. What if that certain fear never came true? What if everything turns out alright in the end? What if, from today onward, your life starts to improve and get better? Remember, you may not have control over the future, but you do have the power to choose your “what if” wisely and in a way that is less distressing.
Devil’s Role

The Ease of Worst-Case Scenarios
Ever wondered why thinking of the worst-case scenario is so easy and effortless, while envisioning the best-case scenario takes a lot of mental effort? Here’s a revelation about Shaytaan (Devil) and his cunning ways. He slowly but steadily takes control of your mind, making it seem like these negative thoughts flow naturally. His goal is to have you burn in the fire of anxiety, dragging you away from the path of Allah and towards the fires of hell.
Trapped by Shaytaan
Many of us are already ensnared by Shaytaan into the treacherous web of anxiety. If you find yourself trapped inside your own mind, it’s an indication that Shaytaan has a significant influence over you. He wants to keep you confined in your thoughts, blind to the beauty around you, hopeless, ungrateful, and consumed by fear of the future. He doesn’t want you to seek forgiveness from Allah, nor does he want you to take any meaningful actions in your life.
Recognizing the Shackles
Acknowledging that you might be under Shaytaan’s influence is the first step towards breaking free. You need to be aware of when you are in control of your mind and when your mind is being manipulated by him. By recognizing his presence, you can begin to resist his deceptions.
Control
Remember, you are responsible for your mind, and it’s time to reclaim that responsibility. Start taking control of your thoughts and emotions from today onwards. Turn towards Allah and seek refuge from Shaytaan’s whispers. Embrace positivity, gratitude, and hope. Take decisive actions in your life, and don’t succumb to the illusion of the future that Shaytaan wants you to believe in.
Lack Of Faith

Strong Mind
Faithful minds are inherently strong minds. Shaytaan can only exert control over those who are weak-minded and lack faith. Those who don’t believe in the power of Allah and the existence of a Higher Power are the ones who suffer the most. It’s the absence of faith that leaves them vulnerable to Shaytaan’s influence.
Design of Allah
Recognize that you are not the sole controller of your life. There’s a higher power, Allah, who has already designed your life’s path. You may wonder why Allah doesn’t simply change our thoughts if He has control over our lives. The answer lies in the concept of free will. Allah has granted us the ability to control our actions and thoughts unlike other creatures. It is this free will that Shaytaan tries to manipulate to gain control over our actions by first targeting our thoughts.
Reduce Suffering
The crux of the matter is that the more we lack faith in the power and design of Allah, the more we tend to suffer. Having faith in Allah takes mental effort, but the rewards are immeasurable. As Allah says in a Hadith Qudsi: “Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you.” It all starts with a conscious decision to trust in Allah and the future He has written for you.
Antidepressants
The Pill Dilemma
It’s a common scenario for people seeking help for anxiety to receive pill recommendations from psychiatrists. But have you ever wondered what these pills actually do? They aim to slow down your overactive mind, but is this the ultimate and everlasting solution you seek?
Temporary Relief
While antidepressants might provide temporary relief, the effects are not permanent. Once the medication wears off, you might experience a rebound effect, leaving you feeling even more anxious than before. Relying solely on pills may not address the root cause of your anxiety.
The Power
The solution lies within your grasp – you have the power to control your mind. Unlike other pains that are beyond our control, the pain created by our own minds can be managed by ourselves. You don’t need a pill to take charge; you need therapy, and the most effective therapy lies in faith.
The Healing Power
Faith is the ultimate solution to every problem you face, including anxiety. When you call upon Him (Allah), He will answer your prayers. You may have heard miraculous stories of cancer survivors who, despite facing incredible challenges, found strength and healing through their unwavering faith.
Miracles
The stories of those who have experienced miracles through faith are not coincidences. These individuals had unwavering trust in a higher power, which gave them the courage to endure and overcome their struggles. While their journeys may not have been without challenges, faith provided the strength to face them head-on.
True Believers

Separating
To overcome anxiety, it’s essential to recognize the distinction between present emotions and fears of the unknown future. Embrace and accept your current emotions without suppressing them. Allow yourself to feel and acknowledge what you’re going through, even if it means shedding tears. There’s no need to mask your emotions just to appear strong.
Rejecting the Projection
While it’s crucial to accept your present situation, avoid projecting your current struggles onto the future. Just because you are facing difficulties now doesn’t mean it will remain the same forever. The future is unknown and subject to change. Trust that things can improve and that you have the power to shape your destiny.
Emotions
Even with the strongest faith, it’s important to understand that being sad is a natural part of being human. Even great prophets and happiness coaches faced struggles and challenges in their lives. Having faith doesn’t make you immune to sadness, but it does equip you with the strength to navigate through it.
The Beauty
This is the beauty of faith, you know what true believers do? They live in there present, they now everything is temporary, they cry but they know that this is never gonna be the same forever. They have no fear of future or regret of past they just live in the present. they live in the breath.
Tawooz

Auzubillah minash-shaytanir-rajim
Reciting the short ayah “Auzubillah minash-shaytanir-rajim” (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan) can be a powerful instant anxiety relief. Despite being a professional overthinker, this simple invocation has provided a sense of security and protection. By seeking refuge in Allah, negative thoughts and influences no longer have the power to harm or approach the mind.
Embracing Emotions and Seeking Refuge
While accepting and acknowledging emotions is important, reciting “Auzubillah minash-shaytanir-rajim” serves as a practical tool for finding solace and relief. This powerful invocation allows individuals to turn to Allah for refuge, fostering a sense of security and peace in turbulent times.
A Lifeline
For many, this short ayah has been a lifeline for mental health. It acts as a constant reminder that they are protected and guarded by the highest power. By seeking protection from the highest power, individuals can experience freedom from the burden of overthinking and fears. By reciting it, they can break free from the grip of anxiety, overthinking, and negative influences.
Conclusion
Anxiety may be a constant companion in our lives, but it does not have to define us. By understanding its roots, acknowledging the devil’s influence, strengthening our faith, and seeking refuge in Allah, we can break free from the chains of anxiety. Embrace your present, accept your emotions, and remember that the future is but an illusion. Take control of your mind, and let faith guide you on the journey to peace and resilience. The door to freedom is open; it’s time to step through.
