Do you ever feel like you want to change your life but don’t quite know where to begin? If you’ve asked yourself, “How can I change my life and be happy?” or wondered, “How do I start changing my life?” you’re not alone. 6 months ago I also faced moments when the desire for change was strong, but the path forward seemed unclear. The one and only reason is Your Beliefs! Even if you work the hardest but if your beliefs suck you’ll go nowhere, even for 10 years.
In this journey to transform your life, the key lies in understanding that change starts from within, and it begins with addressing your beliefs. If you’ve ever pondered, “How do you change your life when you don’t know where to start?” this guide is tailored just for you. We’ll explore simple steps—crossing out limiting beliefs, crafting new empowering thoughts, and incorporating daily affirmations—to pave the way for immediate and lasting change. Believe me I’ve tried it and its the remote control of your life. So let’s control the game called “Life”.
Step 1: Identification
What: Recognize the old beliefs that may be holding you back and keeping you stuck in a place you wish to change.
How: Start by this notion template or grab a pen and paper. Write down at least five points that answer the question, “What’s wrong with me and my life?” Be honest and acknowledge any negative thoughts or self-doubts that come to mind.
My personal examples:
- I’ve tried everything, and nothing worked.
- He just doesn’t love me.
- This is not the perfect time.
Why: Just as knowing the symptoms helps in finding a cure for an illness, understanding your limiting beliefs is the first step toward positive change. By identifying these beliefs, you gain clarity on the barriers that need to be overcome, laying the foundation for a transformative journey.
Step 2: Crossing
What: Now that you’ve identified your limiting beliefs, it’s time to actively remove them one by one from your mental landscape, paving the way for positive change.
How: Take a moment to focus on your first limiting belief. Physically engage with it by reading it aloud or in your mind. Then scrabble over the belief. You can cross it out vigorously, scribble over it, or even symbolically tear the paper if you’re using a physical medium. If digital, delete or replace it. This physical action is a tangible representation of your commitment to letting go of these limiting beliefs.
Example:
I’ve tried everything, and nothing worked.- He just doesn’t love me.
- This is not the perfect time.
Why: The act of crossing out or deleting these beliefs serves a crucial purpose. It’s not merely a symbolic gesture; it’s a concrete step toward breaking the chains of negativity. By actively engaging with and eliminating each limiting belief, you are signaling to your subconscious that these thoughts no longer serve you. This process opens up mental space for more empowering and constructive beliefs, setting the stage for a transformative shift in your mindset.
Step 3: New Beliefs
What: Begin crafting positive counter-beliefs to replace each identified limiting belief.
How: On a new blank page, jot down a counter-belief for each negative thought. Generate at least five alternatives or more if possible. Go to step 2 for second belief and similarly write new beliefs for each limiting belief.
Form my example, my limiting belief was “I’ve tried everything, nothing worked” I counter it with beliefs like “Everything works for me,” “I see results instantly,” “Whatever I try, I get results,” “Everything is so easy for me,” and “I instantly get what I want.”
Why: Writing new beliefs is like planting seeds of positivity in the fertile ground you’ve created by removing the old limitations. By replacing negative thoughts with constructive affirmations, you are reshaping your mental landscape. It’s a powerful exercise that reinforces the idea that there are numerous positive ways to perceive a situation.
Step 4: Re-Read & Highlight
What: Now, take a little time to go back and look over the positive counter-beliefs you’ve created.
How: Read through each of the new beliefs you’ve written. As you do, highlight or mark the ones that resonate most strongly with you. Pay attention to the statements that evoke positive emotions or align closely with your aspirations.
Form my example. “Everything works for me,” “I see results instantly,” “Whatever I try, I get results,” “Everything is so easy for me,” and “I instantly get what I want.”
Why: Revisiting and highlighting might seem simple, but it’s like watering the seeds you’ve planted. By focusing on the beliefs that resonate the most, you’re giving them extra attention and importance. Think of it as shining a spotlight on the positive aspects. This process helps these new, empowering thoughts take root in your mind, making them stand out and guiding you toward a more positive outlook on life.
Step 5: Choose & Affirm
What: Personalize your affirmations by selecting 2-3 lines that resonate the most with you.
How: Say these affirmations out loud or in your mind. Don’t stress about feeling them immediately; the key here is repetition. If any old limiting beliefs sneak in, swiftly shut them down by repeating the positive counter-belief.
For example:
When I started affirming I caught myself saying… “Nothing worked before” but then I quickly shifted and told myself “what are you saying hafsa.. Whatever I try I get results”.
Why: I felt the immediate shift at this step. Affirming your chosen lines is like training a muscle. Repetition builds strength. Initially, you might stumble, and that’s okay. The goal is to consistently reinforce the positive beliefs, drowning out the old, negative chatter. In 24 hours, these affirmations become ingrained in your thinking, gradually shaping your mindset towards a more optimistic and empowered perspective. It’s a gentle yet powerful way to redirect your thoughts and set the stage for transformative change.
Step 6: Deeper Each Day
What: Delve into your beliefs more profoundly each day, and continue the transformative process.
How: Set aside a few minutes daily to reflect on your beliefs. Explore if there are deeper layers or subtler nuances to your thoughts. Repeat the steps—identify any lingering limiting beliefs, cross them out, craft new counter-beliefs, and affirm the positive statements.
Why: Change is a journey, not a sprint. Going deeper each day allows you to uncover hidden beliefs that may surface over time. By repeating the process consistently, you reinforce the positive shift in your mindset. It’s like gradually peeling away layers to reveal the authentic, empowered you.
Success Story:
I decided to try the step-by-step process to bring my special person (Sp) back into my life. On the first day, I made some affirmations and repeated them. It felt good, and that night, I dreamt about my Sp—a positive sign.
The next day, I realized there were still some old beliefs lingering. So, I went a bit deeper, made new affirmations, and surprisingly, my Sp visited my house that evening after six months without any clear reason. Encouraged, I went even deeper and affirmed for a specific text.
To my surprise, the very next day, I got the exact text I had hoped for. The process not only brought my Sp back but also showed me the power of changing my thoughts. Now I’m trying it for my finances and I’m seeing results already.
For You:
Give it a try and share your story with me. It’s amazing how simple steps can make big changes. Getting my Sp back was just the start, and I believe you can make positive changes too. Follow the steps, stay positive, and see how things can turn around for you.
